Princess Zhao Wan’er of Nanzhao returns after her marriage alliance with the Tang Dynasty but is falsely accused by Consort Xiao Yuhuan of seducing the ruler. She is tortured and her identity concealed. The truth eventually emerges, leading to Xiao Yuhuan’s brutal execution.
